Audience Opportunity Map — Terms of Engagement
1. What you're commissioning. A written Audience Opportunity Map for one production, covering four areas: where your show actually sits, who your real audience is, what's genuinely buildable in the window you have left, and what to do first. The Map contains recommendations, not execution. Implementation, content production, and campaign work are outside this engagement.
2. Fee. $3,750, paid in full at the time of commission. Work begins once payment and your intake materials are received.
3. Credit toward engagement. If you engage Broadway Storytelling on the same production within [90] days of delivery, the full $3,750 is credited against the first invoice of that engagement.
4. Timeline. The Map is delivered within two weeks of receiving your complete intake materials. If materials arrive late or incomplete, the delivery date moves accordingly.
5. What we need from you. A short intake form, where you'll upload your pitch deck, script, score or demos, development timeline, and any existing marketing or audience research, followed by a 45-minute intake call. The two-week timeline begins after the call. The Map is only as accurate as what it's built on.
6. Timing acknowledgment. The Map has the most leverage before announcement. If your show is already announced, the Map addresses the audience still reachable and what remains buildable during the run. By commissioning, you confirm you understand which situation applies to your production.
7. Confidentiality. Everything you share about your production stays confidential and is used only to prepare your Map. We're happy to sign your NDA.
8. Ownership. The finished Map is yours to use and share with your creative team, general manager, agency, and investors. It may not be published or resold. The methodology, frameworks, and approach behind it, along with the Audience Opportunity Map name, remain the property of Broadway Storytelling.
9. No guarantee of results. The Map reflects professional judgment and research. Ticket sales, run length, and investor returns depend on many factors outside anyone's control, and no specific outcome is promised.
10. Cancellation. Cancel before intake materials are submitted for a full refund less payment processing fees. Once work begins, the fee is non-refundable.
11. Liability. Broadway Storytelling's total liability under this engagement is limited to the fee paid.
12. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the state of New York. Contracting entity: Broadway Storytelling.
Broadway Storytelling builds audience demand in the months before a show is announced — the window between development and campaign that nobody else works. It's a different job from Broadway marketing strategy, which begins at announcement and converts demand that already exists. Thirty years producing, performing, and marketing in live theatre. When you're ready to have an audience waiting on announcement day, we're ready to build it.
